OPTOPLAST SILICONE RENDER ACCELORATOR (PDA) Is a highly advanced additive for acrylic topcoat silicone renders, resulting in their shorter drying under adverse weather conditions

1 Litre Tub covers roughly 40m² (enough for 4 x Tub of Thin Coat Texture)

Add 250ml to 1 25Kg tub of silicone render 

PDA is used to shorten the drying times of polymer renders under adverse temperature and humidity conditions. Does not impact other characteristics of the material, does not affect its durability nor the performance characteristics of the set render.

It works by accelerating water evaporation from the applied material, thus significantly shortening the first stage of dispersive agents’ bonding process. Consequently, the second stage, consisting of binder setting and drying, may begin much earlier, and the applied material becomes resistant to sudden temperature drops or to precipitation much faster (after only 8 hours). 

Application 

PDA is recommended for use e.g. when the temperature may fall below 5°C (to approx. 0°C) when the render is drying or when air humidity is above 65%. 
Optoplast PDA must not be used as replacement for providing adequate protection for the render surface against direct impact of weather conditions (rain and strong wind) during its application and drying. 

PDA may shorten the drying time as compared to that of the standard render by approx. 40% (under the same conditions).

Preparation and application 

• PDA is to be added in the amount of 1% of the render. Use approximately 250ml of the additive per a 25 kg render. 
• Add PDA to the tub directly before application.
• Mix with a low-speed mixer. 
• The render should be applied onto the wall immediately after it is mixed with the additive.
• Do not store the mixed product with the additive. Prevent render air penetration.
• Do not dilute.
• The product must not be used with silicate renders.
• Note: Adding PDA impacts the colour of the render – making it lighter.
• Always add the same amount of the agent to all tubs that are to be applied to one specific building facade. 
• Wash the tools with water immediately after use.
